Vegas hotel for tournament
18 yo daughter is participating in a sports tournament based at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Feb. Some matches may be there, but she also could be playing at sites all over the greater Las Vegas/Henderson area. In other words, there may be driving involved, or there may not be.
For first time in years I am attending as parent but not as one of team chaperones. Team is staying at LV Hilton. I am thinking about staying in another hotel and having some alone time when not attending matches.
Not a gambler. Love spas, shopping and good food. Several shows sound appealing. Like to be pampered a bit on this trip.
Toying with staying at the Wynn but rates right now are around 400./night. Is it worth it? How about ingress/egress if I have to do a lot of in-and-out with the parking garage. Also what about walking distance to the convention center.
Considering Caesars for shopping and spa but I've heard bad things from this site about solo women staying there.
Advice?

What's wrong with the Hilton? They have a shuttle to the strip. It's not clear what kinds of things you're looking for that the Hilton doesn't have? Most of the higher end hotels on the strip have what you're looking for too. Mandalay Bay is liked by many. Paris is nice too with good restaurants. Bellagio is upscale like the Wynn and more centrally located on the strip.

The North tower rooms at Bally's are a really good value. The rooms are bigger than the Paris and just as nice, but cheaper. (The South tower rooms are more dated.)
Plus, Bally's is connected to Paris so they feel like one big hotel, with all the restaurants and shops easily accessible from either hotel. Also, there is a monorail stop at Bally's which will take you to the Hilton, if you decide you'd rather not drive. But Paris/Bally's is very centrally located on the strip and a great place to stay if you want to visit other hotels.

LOL--you must be volleyball mom too! Our daughter did the Vegas tournament a several times and the team always stayed at the Flamingo because that's where the coach's husband liked to gamble! I traveled with another mom when our daughters were seniors and we decided to stay at the Paris and had a great time. The location was very central and it was easy to come and go.
