Vail - Sitzmark Lodge

We have a tentative reservation at this lodge in February. Has anyone ever stayed here who could give us some comments or advice? We do know that it's in a great location. Thanks!

The Sonnenalp was a fantastic place in a great location. If you can get coskier to respond she can tell you about the Sitzmark. Have fun!

Thanks, Gretchen. The Sonnenalp was a little out of our price range, unfortunately, but I know that it's an awesome property. Maybe next year! Coskier, are you there?

Hi Julia, sorry to say I have never been inside. Bly may know of it. Ppl rave about the Left Bank Restaurant that I think is located there. Like you said the location is good, if the price is right go for it.

Had a bit of snow yesterday. Skiing Vail this weekend.

Let me know if you have any other questions, we do not often stay at Vail but go there quite often. Be sure to try Sweet Basils while your there. Reservations are a must.

Thanks so much for replying. We went ahead and booked the Sitzmark, so hopefully it will be fine.

I read that Vail got six inches of snow overnight. I'm envious that you'll be there this weekend! Thanks again!

Sorry - never been in the Sitzmark. It IS a great location though. Even if the unit is only moderate, you're right in the middle of everything. Weds. nights there's a street party with a free concert in front of the lodge, restaurants and skiing right outside your door. Skiing apparently was great today - but COLD. It will warm up in FEb. b

Maybe you're already on your trip, Julia---but my husband and I stayed at the Sitzmark in the summer of 2001. Our room was very nice, very comfortable. The lobby etc. was just so-so, but we really didn't care about the lobby. Our room had a balcony overlooking Gore Creek, and we were walking distance to everything. Definitely eat at Sweet Basils. We really enjoyed our room. Enjoy-----and post when you return---we're going to for our first Vail-skiing experience in March----can't wait!!
