US to motreal

Does any one know of any good sites for cheap tickets to montreal from notheast? Or ist it better to take a road trip? also any good hotels, rest. etc. Preferrably in walking distance to all, prefer 4stars or better.

kayak.com will have all of the flights listed.

If a road trip makes sense or not depends on several things:

Where you're coming from
How much time you have
Do you already have a car or will you have to rent one
How many of you are going on the trip
Will you be seeing things on the way and outside of Monreal - or just staying in the city

For hotels and restaurants you'll do better on the Canada board.

Well Traveling in suv, from providence to montreal 4 adults in thinks it take 6 hours, don't know what there is to see on the way. Have about five days total. Shortest flights from pvd 3 1/2 hr flight. is it worth the flight?

Drive, don't bother with flying. It'll be way cheaper and will take about as long.

Travel time to PVD + 1-1.5 hour early arrival to check in + 3.5 hour flight + 0.5-1 hour to pick up bags and rent car in Montreal. Add that all up and it might even be longer than the 6 hour drive. Certainly splitting gas 4 ways is going to be a lot cheaper than airfare for 4 plus a rental vehicle.

flep, we lived in NYC and drove to Montreal once , sometimes twice a year, for years.
It was a 6 hour drive, we stopped in the Adirondacks which was a halfway point and had a picnic lunch when we went in the summer or stopped at a place in one of the little towns when we drove up in the fall.
The drive was always very pleasant, we loved the scenery and I am crazy about the Adirondacks and the area around Lake George..
There are nice road stops/rest stops and the little towns, like Schroon Lake are pleasant..you can stop at a little convenience store for stuff, we took our picnic to a picnic area by Schroon Lake and sat at a picnic table and watched the boaters out on the lake..

It is not really worth stopping overnight for a 6 hour drive.
You leave in the am and you are there for dinner.

Montreal hotels?
We stayed at the Omni, our favorite that we went back to over and over is the Le Germain.
There are so so many restaurants and places of interest within walkng distance.
Actually, there are plenty of places within walking distance of most of the city hotels and those in Old Town.
