urgent help re hotel in south beach

Hi
I had booked in Loews after recommendations from this forum. Unfortunately they are closing their kids club and we are offered another hotel Ritz Carlton, South Beach for $50 extra per night. Would like to know how good is the hotel. We have a 8yr old boy, so are looking for a child friendly hotel.
Thanks in advance,

If you can get the Ritz-Carlton South Beach for $50 per night, jump all over that deal!

South Beach isn't really a kid friendly place. I think the Loews is one of the few hotels that did have a kids program.

No no it is $50 extra per night not $50 a night. The hotel does have kids club which is pretty expensive.

English lady....I think you mean that the Ritz will be $50 more per night than you would have paid at Loews, right? The Ritz is deluxe. They say they are "transforming" the hotel into Miami's only 5-Star property.Dont know what that means. But because the rooms are small, rollaway beds are allowed only in Executive Suites, which run about $950 per night. However, there is a wide choice of room categories with 2 double beds: Deluxe City View, Partial Ocean View, and Ocean View. The 5th Floor is smoking, so if you want no smoking, dont let them give you a room on Floor 5.I had a friend specifically request non smoking and they gave him Room 525 or whatever. The mistake was quickly reversed.Kids Club is 9am-4pm, $85 includes lunch.Half day is 9a-12N or 1p-4p and is $42.50..Plus, on Friday and Saturday nights they offer 6p-9p for $75 and that includes dinner.this feature requires 24 hour advance reservation. The restaurants in the hotel do offer kid menus as well.I hope this info helps and have a lovely time!

No, I knew it was $50 more per night. I'd still jump all over the rate. If you got the Loews for $200, $250 is still a deal for the RC.

They are almost right next door to each other.

Is there a car park close to Ritz Carlton because the valet parking seems to be too much for our liking.

My friend said he parked at the 17th Street Garage, about 5 or 6 blocks from the hotel. It's large and easily accessible. At 17th Street and Convention Center Drive.$1 per hour, max $8 for 24 hours. The hotel is on Ocean/Lincoln between 16th and 17th.
