It is a big state. Indicate starting point and where you will be going and suggestions on where to stay can be provided.

Why do you have to stay in Malone?
What would you like to know about it? This would be a last place Upstate New York to visit. And I live in this area but not Malone. Thank you god It is a very close to Canada and about 1 hour from Lake Placid

Thank you for the quick responses.

I am actually driving from Saint John New Brunswick to Ontario. We are wanting to take a scenic drive through Maine, Vermont and Upper New York State and need a place to spend 1 night hopefully in the New York area so the remainder of our drive won't be to long...any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't have a map with me, but I think anywhere in the Adirondacks would be lovely. (Except Lake George, which is very nice, but very crowded and touristy in the summer).

I have driven from Halifax to Toronto and have went through New York to do it. What park of ON are you driving to? Malone is a very small depressed town near the Canadian border. It is not very scenic. Lake George would be far out of your way. You could get a room in Alexandria Bay or Clayton NY in the Thousand Islands. You can cross into Ontario at this point as well near Kingston ON. Another place you could stay is Odgensburg or Messena. You do realize that this route will take you alot longer because there is no interstate that runs across Northern NY. The 401 from Montreal to Toronto. London etc is a much faster and safer route.

Thank you all so much for your information. We are taking the quicker route through quebec on the trip out but on the way back was going to come through the upper part of the States I have heard it is beautifull. How long do you think this would take we are going to Toronto Ontario. Also what did you mean by safer, are there bad areas that we will go through or do you mean the mountains? Again thanks
