Are you using IE as your browser? If yes try downloading the Mozilla browser I've been using it for a year now and haven't seen a pop-up since.

A Fodor's poster (in some thread I've now forgotten) suggested downloading AdAware from lavasoft--it identifies and isolates spyware and data miners on your hard drive, and I think that those little devils are the cause of your pop-up problem. I think the site is www.lavasoft.de
