Keith, if your flight gets in at 8 you probably won't be hitting a restaurant till 10ish and it's kind of late for dinner.
Again, try a search for restaurants in the Traverse City area and make a call or two. TC is a pretty little town with some quaint shops and close to the water. Kind of an artsy town, and a few nice restaurants.

Keith, if your flight arrives at 8:00 PM, you will be out of the (little) airport in no time. Heading north on US31 from teh airport, you will see "Reflections" restaurant on the bay. It is actually on the top floor of the Waterfront Hotel.
Wantsome is correct in stating the early closing of restaurants. Reflections is near the airport, headed in the same direction that you are traveling, and has a great menu. I believe they stop seating at 9:00 PM. Too bad you won't be in town early enough for a stunning view of the sunset.
