restaurant near atlanta airport

Help! I will be in Atlanta one day visiting with girlfriends. We will be in north Atlanta and I am flying out from Hartsfield at 7 pm. I thought because of the time of day, it would be better to eat (or cocktails - appetizers) around 5pm near the airport. Any ideas?

I would strongly suggest you eat earlier than 5 if your flight leaves at 7. There aen't many,if any restaurants near the airport that I know of unless you go to one of the nearby hotels that may or may not have restuaruants in them

I agree with mrsd2fan. The airport isn't in the most interesting area of the city. Better off having a nice lunch together and then eating dinner on your own in the airport. The lines at security can be quite long and you'll have to take a train from there to your gate. I'd be there by 5:30 at the latest.

There are some decent bars/restaurants in the Atlanta airport, so you could always grab dinner together there.

Try Spondivits on Virginia Ave...cold beer and great seafood. It's at the first exit before reaching the airport. You can check out their menu at www.spondivits.net , my favorite is their fried lobster BLT.

But, I do agree that waiting until 5:00 could make you late for your flight...hey, you can always have another drink at the lounge near your gate!
