Travelling Route 66 on a ride on Lawnmower

Hi

Thinking of doing Route 66 by ride on lawnmower. Doing this route by bus, car or motorcycle is so last week and we are so over it.

Anyone know of any mower shops that rent out the larger sit on lawn mower in the Santa Monica area?

The "only way" to drive this route is in a '59 Corvette convertible.

'59 Corvette? Thats soooo last week.

Briggs and Stratton will pay $10,000 to the first person to do it on a ride on mower

In 1 thread, you are not interested in visiting the US and this thread you are going to ride a lawnmower on Route 66. Which one is it?

Hey Crispy...as fate would have it, I was in Santa Monica today trying to rent a ride on lawnmower. Unfortunately, they're out for a really, really long time. If you tell me when you're interested, I might be able to help you.

Let me know, k?

I would recommend that you buy a riding lawnmower rather than try to rent one. It will definitely be more economical. By the end of your trip, I would imagine that the damage waiver will not cover bent blades from the rocks you will hit or road kill. Additionally, I recommend you get the hybrid verision with additional gas tanks as it is a long long way between gas stations on Route 66. You might want to wear your Elvis outfit. What should crispy take with him on his trip?

1) Sunscreen
2) Snake bite kit
3) Flares
4) Roll of toilet paper...

Well, actually, in hind site instead of a hybrid, why don't you convert the mower to run on used restaurant fry grease? What a green adventure! You can stop at all the greasy spoons on Route 66 and collect their used frying oil and use it in your lawnmower. Only downside is that you will have to smell like french fries instead of bacon grease. Course, the french fry smell will throw off the cops and they will never catch of whiff of what you are smokin. And it ain't bacon!

Sorry, Mr. Bacon, but your pants are on fire. On your only other (equally absurd post) you already told us you have "no desire to visit America" so we know you are NOT planning to do this. And anyway, you'd have to go through that brutal treatment at immigration if you came here. Please do us all a favor and stay out of our country. We have enough idiots and liars here already.

Don't forget to always have a broom. If your mower breaks, you'll need to fly to get help.

And I have a question. Are you going to ride the lawnmower also through the passport control?

Does one need an Iternational Drivers License for this trip? How about insurance? How much luggage does this mower hold? Is it better to rent a diesel or regular mower?
These are important questions to ask when renting a vehicle in another country!
