Travel time from Princeton to JFK?
Hi,
I'm going to NYC soon. I have an option of staying a night or two in Princeton at the end of my trip.
However, I'm not flying out of Newark. I'm flying out of JFK instead. Is it a total pain in the arse to get from Princeton to the JFK airport? How long would it take? What's the best, most efficient transportation to there? Car? Train? Shuttle?
Thanks,
Chauncey

Hi Chauncey,
Yes, Dave is correct- no where near one hour-90 minutes minumum. Can you tell me when you will be going exactly-month, day, and time. e.g. On weekends in the summer you will hit traffic going to the Long Island beaches once you cross over into Brooklyn on a Sat. am. However, on a Sunday evening, you will get traffic from people returning from the Jersey Shore heading into Staten Island! You must be more specific and I can help you more.

That should be a good time to travel-during the middle of the day. I suggest you have lunch in Princeton and then leave at about 1:30 for the airport.
I have seen a JFK shuttle bus (I assume it services Princeton Hotels) along the highway I commute to work. However, I don't know if you will be able to get one at that time of day. I would not recommend public transit, since I think you would have to go through Manhattan to get to JFK-and this would be time prohibitive. I would contact your hotel or wherever you are staying and ask them to make arrangements for you. It also may be very expensive, so please check first. I am taking a car service to Newark from my home and it is costing $40.00 plus tolls to go less than 20 miles.
