transportation

what is the easiest, quickest and inexpensive way to use public transportation from new jersey (near the Meadowlands) to see a broadway show in NYC? we are midwesterners with no previous experience.

NJ Transit bus to Port Authority at 42nd ST and 8th AVenue. PA is a less than 10 minute walk to almost every Broadway theater. If staying at a hotel near the Meadowlands ask hotel personnel where you can pick up a bus.

Definitely the NJ transit bus. Check their website for schedules and stop locations.

Port Authority is NYC's main bus station. It's nowhere near as seedy as it used to be! It's right across the street from a new, major entertainment complex...right off of Times Square. The pedestrian tourist traffic (plus hundreds of thousands of commuters) make the area feel safe.
