time to visit statue
I plan to make a reservation to visit the pedestal at the Statue of Liberty. Then I think that I will visit Ellis Island with my granddaughter so that my daughter can go and see the 911 Memorial. I think I need to make a reservation to visit the 911 Memorial. So does anyone have an idea about how long we should plan for the statue visit to the pedestal and then time to return and then walk to the 911 memorial. thanks,

Go to the Statue on the first boat out in the morning. Go straight to the statue as there will be more security to go thru. We lingered too long at the Statue and had to short change Ellis Island. I would have loved spending more time.

Here is our morning at the Statue of Liberty (with photos). It was in 2011, but I doubt much has changed. We were in the first group of the morning. To tour the statue and Ellis Island took about 3 1/2 hours (that included climbing to the top).
