Things to reserve EARLY in Vegas

My husband and I will be taking our first trip to Las Vegas next April, along with two other couples who have not been before either.
I tend to be an overly obsessive planner, and am already looking at flights, hotels, restaurants and things to do.
My question relates to advance reservations. I realize that many shows and some restaurants only allow booking within 4 months of your stay, but what I really want to know is what do I NEED to book way in advance?
Thanks for your help - I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions before April!!!

nothing

You can always secure a cancellable hotel res as soon as possible and then rebook as you find better deals.

I've booked Cirque shows 2-3 months ahead and gotten seats within the first 5 rows.

Yes, but summer is not a busy time in Vegas. People don't go there when its 100-120F outside.

If there is a show you definitely want to see, I would definitely book it far in advance.

April is much busier than June and July.

Really? Then why did my Mom say it's hard to get lounge chairs at the resorts when you don't go down first thing in the morning? They've gone five times all in June, and once in April.

It's still busy in the summer, maybe not AS busy, but I wouldn't say no one goes there.

Leigh,

There are only a few things that I would recomend that you book early, your hotel and any show you really want to see. Some of the more popular shows like LOVE sell out almost every night. Right now the hotel are offering some great promitional rates. Im here in vegs now interning with a hotel group , and it is busy out here now. You should check out the MGM Grand at http://tinyurl.com/4lx8hz , The Bellagio at http://tinyurl.com/548deo and the Mirage at http://tinyurl.com/4yfjtw
. You might be able to get some great deals even if you arent going for a while. Here is the link to LOVE is you want to check that out too http://tinyurl.com/5lql3o
. Hope this helps
