The Tetons for an Anniversary Trip

Have a week off in mid Sept and just starting to plan a trip to celebrate a big anniversary. Originally we thought we would do local east coast trip, but now getting grander in our ideas! ... Never been to Grand Tetons or Yellowstone - should we just do 1 of these for 6 days or do both - and.. would love someone's expert advice as to how to configure the trip either to one or both of these places, where to stay, do not miss activities, hiking trails, restaurants, etc. we would be flying from Phila or NYC and then renting car. Thank you!

It has been several years since we were in the Tetons/Yellowstone area, but we will never forget that trip. Doing both is certainly doable in that amount of time. I remember that we drove from Yellowstone to the Tetons on a Sunday morning. When we first saw the Tetons in the distance we felt God was showing us the beauty he created--it is breathtaking. Just wanted to encourage you to take this trip. Can't really give you much restaurant information. We did hike and there are lots of trails to choose from.

You could easily do both in six days. We just spent time in both parks in early June; if you click my screen name you can read my trip report.

Start calling now for reservations in the parks. Most likely all the properties are full, but they do have cancellations.

Do both! We did six days in May - 2 GTNP and 4 YS. It was perfect.

Thank you - called today and have reservation at Old Faithful Inn (obviously called at the right moment to capitalize on a cancellation, and now will call for a reservation at the Grand Tetons. If we have only 1 day at Yellowstone - can we squeeze important must-dos in that time frame - what do you rec?? thanks!!
