the Marquesa in Key West?
My husband and I are going to Key West in August to celebrate an anniversary. Does anyone have input about the Marquesa hotel in Key West. The jounior King suites seem nice and resonable. I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has stayed there.

I haven't stayed there but go to Key West regularly. The Marquesa has an absolutely top-notch reputation...in fact, probably the best in Key West. It's won national awards for excellence, is in a great location and has a wonderful restaurant. If my husband and I didn't want a water view I'm sure we'd have stayed there.

I stayed there about 2 years ago and LOVED it. Beautiful courtyard with two pools, quiet but convenient location, no kids allowed (if that's what you're looking for). Also not a B & B -- they call themseves a "small luxury hotel" -- which means you don't have to make small talk with hosts, pet the family dog, walk up creaky stairs, get locked out in the middle of the night, etc. When you check in, they pour you a glass of wine, park your car, and wisk your bags off to your room. Just lovely.

We are here in Key West right now & are staying just down a block from the Marquesa. I would highly recommend them & my wife & I have stayed their before. We just had dinner this past Tuesday & was another great dinner. They have a fixed menu now for $35 plus the every day menu, I had the Yellowtail again & my wife had the Maui Maui (Dolphn). The juinior suite in the back building is superb! If you need more information, I will be back in July. Untill then, I'm on vacation!
