The Bronx:Where to eat when the Yankees play?
My husband and I are traveling to NYC this week and planning to see the Yankees play an afternoon game. What are some suggestions on where to eat around the stadium or close by? Also, is there any thing to do in The Bronx after the game?
Thank you!

You eat at the Stadium. the other things to do in the Bronx (the Zoo and Botanical Garden) are not near the Stadium. After the game you return to Manhattan. (Yankees Stadium is in a neighborhood hat has not yet been gentrified - so you don;t want to stay there after the game. the very tall building in the background in the Bronx House of Detention - county jail.)

We like the West Indian place, The Feeding Tree, on Gerard Avenue, for inexpensive food before games; here is their menu. We usually get one of the chicken dishes. It is a just a block or two from the (old) stadium. Lots of Yankee fans there on game nights.

If you want to combine great eating and going to a ball game then the place to go is not Yankee Stadium but the Mets' Citi field in Flushing. Take the 7 train to one stop beyond the stadium and you will be in the heart of Flushing and a selection of some of the world's greatest Asian cuisine. This area is home to an affluent Asian community and they demand and know what good food is. Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, et al. Many have received rave reviews in magazines, newspapers, and Zagat.
