Texan Wants Destination Wedding in Utah

My fiance and I want to do a destination wedding out west (we're from Texas). I found a place on the internet called Wolf Creek Resort in Eden, Utah. If any of you can help answer some of these questions we'd REALLY appreciate it:

1. Have you heard of Wolf Creek Resort? Good/bad?
2. We're looking at the end of September. Will the leaves be pretty at that time?
3. Will it be too cold to have an outdoor wedding at the end of September?

Thank you!! Heather

I live in Park City, UT and have skied at Snowbasin, near Eden. Have not been to Wolf Creek Resort, but have head it's beautiful - but then all our mountains are!

The aspens usually start to turn at end of Sept and peak between then and the first week of Oct. There can be snow (high altitude), you could have wind and rain, it's fall in the Wasatch after all! If planning an outdoor wedding, have a Plan B just like you would anywhere else.

I would suggest you also check out Robert Redford's place, Sundance, in Provo Canyon. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth. Also can highly recommend Stein Erickson's Lodge at Deer Valley, 5 diamond rated property.

Congrats and buona fortuna!

Don't know about Wolf Creek Resort or Sundance but Deer Valley has wedding planners to help you plan your wedding. There are never any guarantees for how the weather will be in September for an outdoor wedding but it should be fine.

Having vactioned in Utah several times I know you will love the mountains of Eden. I've never stayed at Wolf Creek but the Condos look great on a visit there. Keep the weather in mind. The seasons tend to be early (or late) in Utah. Fall is terrific but it may be cooler and wetter than fall in Texas. I think Wolf Creek will fill any bill for you as far as activities, anything from skiing(snow and water) to biking to horseback riding. They have so many things to do. Check out their website. Going soon? My family says is very green this late spring and everything is gorgeous with the extra rain this spring. I have been in Eden in May, July and October. Snow as early as fall in the mountains, and rain below. I would second Park City. Great place to ski and the fall would be beautiful. Good food there and some wonderful little shops. Sundance, another great idea, is just a little distance away. Good Luck!

Thought you might want to explore other possibilites where there might be less chance of inclement weather. This resort is near Moab UT and might fit your bill.

Hope this helps...
