Terrace Room Maui Westin

My husband and I haved booked a terrace room at the Maui Westin. Have any of you stayed in a terrace room ? If so, what are your thoughts? Would you advise upgrading to a mountain view or partial ocean view room?

Also, has anyone had dinner at the new Pineapple Grill or Fish and Poi?

Eaten at both. Fish & Poi is OK, but Pineapple Grill is great.

Chico, my husband and I are also booked in a terrace room at the same hotel. Their website has 360 views of the Garden/Terrace Room. I've heard that it may be smaller than other rooms at the hotel. We have been "gifted" this room along with my daughter"s in-laws and have gladly accepted considering the price of a room per night. I also would like to know if this room is generally a fine enough room? Anyone with time spent in one, please let us know what your thoughts were?

Chico,

In reading some other posts from a while back, I found this:Author: kelli
Date: 07/13/2002, 05:04 pm but have cut out some of it, --The terrace rooms are in the back of the hotel overlooking the parking lot."

Ooh, I'm not liking this. Hope that we will be able to upgrade to a Partial Ocean View.

Princess:

Thanks for the information regarding the room. We stayed at the Westin two years ago and had a mountain room which I enjoyed. My daughter stayed there last year in a partial ocean view room in the newer section. She said they had a view of the pool and partial ocean view overlooking the timeshare offices.
I think we will upgrade to the partial ocean view room.

When will you be in Maui ?

We will be there Feb. 15- 20th. The hotel may be full and so to upgrade may be difficult for us since Points are being used by my daught's membership towards our room.

The parking lot is not what I had in mind, but we would still get the use of all the pools. I wonder if they will let my daughter and her family come and join us for swimming? Also, likewise, we using their pool at the (Hanapauli?) Westin Beach Resort? Not sure about their policies. Our son-in-law said that we would be over to their hotel mostly (he thinks!) to view the Ocean View that they have.
We will not look a gift horse in the mouth! (Where did that phrase come from, anyway?)

We ALL will have fun, - - how could we not?
