Taxi from West Hollywood to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Taxi from West Hollywood to Six Flags Magic Mountain. I would be travelling early morning on a Tues.

Any ideas on cost / travel time?

Would i be able to get a return taxi in the afternoon?

Is this just a stupid idea? and if so can anyone suggest a (convenient) alternative that does not require hiring a car?

Any suggestions welcome.

thx in advance. darren.

The Banana Bungalow Hostel in Hollywood has shuttles to various attractions, and to Magic Mountain on a daily basis. I would give them a call and see if you can take advantage of the availability. Magic Mountain is about 35 miles from West Hollywood, and public transportation is nearly impossible.

Since the average taxi rate is $1.75 to $2.00 mile, you're looking at a $150 round trip.

In most of the LA area it is not practical to rely on cabs. Sure - sometimes to/from an airport or other short trips. But things are VERY spread out and you will spend waaaaaay too much money if you plan on using cabs to get around.

Go to www.mta.net and go to "Metro Trip Planner". After putting in the addresses of both locations, you will get a sense of whether public transit is an option and how long it would be.

Also check the Metrolink train schedule (which is accessible from this website) from Union Station to Valencia and see if it's possible to take a bus from there. It's a very long distance so to be honest, I don't know if public transit would work.
