Getting from LAX to Hollywood

My husband, myself and our 2 kids will be arriving in LA June 23, 2005. Can anyone recommend the most cost effective way to get from LAX to Hollywood [where we are staying]??

The traditional way involved becoming very good friends with a producer.

The most cost effective way is the public transportation. It is cheap but involves transfers. I believe it's $3 for an all day pass and children under 5 are free. For more info look here:

Next option would be a shuttle service. Not knowing taxi rates in LA I can't tell you if it will be cheaper for 4 people.

Taxis

and then, since you are going to Hollywood, hire a limo. It will be waiting for you at the airport and provide a ride in style to begin your vacation.

I would recommend a taxi with 4 people and luggage if cost is a concern, limo if it's not.
If budget is tight and you don't have much luggage, the train.

Have a great trip!

We took a cab from Hollywood to LAX last week, and the cost was $50 for 7 of us.I think the cost would have been the same even if there were less people.

Again, not knowing your budget, or if you are planning to hire a car at all during your stay here which I highly recommend, you can always take Super Shuttle or a similar van service to your hotel.

Super Shuttle is a good way to go. I know that from LAX to the Downtown area is about $12/person. So it might be about the same to go to Hollywood.

It's more than that, but I don't think it's the same charge per person. It might be 20, then an additional charge for each person. Call Super Shuttle to be sure.
