Sunny get away in February

We would like to go somewhere for 5 or so days in the end of Feb. We want warm beaches, some history would be great. Would like the flight from northeast to be relatively short and would like to stay in the states. Have no desire to go to Mexico. Any suggestions??Thanks for your help ahead of time.

I would guess south Florida is the only area where you might have a good chance for beachy weather in Feb.

Even south FL is risky in terms of really hot weather in Feb. You will do better in the Carib, Hawaii or Mexico.

I dunno...it has been pretty warm so far this winter. There are still people swimming, even in St Pete. Don't know if the trend will continue, but our coldest day so far has been about 67, with daily temps in the 70's and low 80's otherwise. Of course if it's that warm here, further south it's even better. I'd look around the Naples, Vanderbuilt Beach, area. Water temps are warmer in the Gulf than the Atlantic, and IMHO, the beaches are prettier on the west coast of FL too.

Stay away from the northeast school vacation dates in February, fares to Florida will be sky high and so will rental cars.

Thanks for the date up date. What is there to do around Naples? What about the keys? Is key west the only recommended destination in the keys? Thanks for your help
