Sunburst Resort VS. Wyndham Buttes

What would you choose??? The Wyndham Buttes (valley view at $159) in Tempe or The Sunburst Resort (courtyard view at $159) in Scottsdale?????

We stayed at the Buttes in September. Although it had a nice pool and water slide, we felt like the resort was a bit of a disappointment. The hallway had an odd odor, and the room was very noisy. We thought the breakfast buffet was included in the room cost, and we were unpleasantly suprised when they brought us a 30$ bill for breakfast for three. As for the Sunburst, I have never stayed there, but I do not recommend the Buttes.

The Sunburst is in a better location. I think the experience of the previous poster was unusual because the Buttes is a nice place. It depends on what you want to do in the valley. The Buttes is a nice resort setting in a pretty mountain but nothing else around it is that great. The Sunburst is not as much of a resort feeling but has more to do around it.

Both of these places are mid range resorts for this area.
Neither has especially memorable rooms.
Location of the Sunburst is much better for touristy activity.

Thanks for the replies! Actually, I'm just driving through (mid-April), with my number one thing to do is an Arizona D-Back game. I know the Buttes is closer to the stadium...but the Sunburst does not seem much further.

Except the Buttes is right on the highway, and Sunburst requires that you drive some surface streets before reaching the highway.
But that's a small issue IMO.
