Spending a few days in NY for our honeymoon
Hi!
We are getting married in October and will be spending a couple of days of our honeymoon in NYC. We already have the plane tickets, the hotel and the broadway tickets but now we need bus tickets (to the Poconos and back to NYC) and some suggestions for restaurants that aren't really $$$ in the Times Square area. We would like to go to a nice but not so expensive meal the night we go to the theatre so if anyone has suggestions on that, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would not do the nice meal the night you go to the theater. Why rush through your best dinner at an ungodly early hour to get to the theater on time? You will enjoy both more if you do them on separate nights.
If you can give idea on budget ($ - and if for entree or whole meal) and cuisines people can make specific recos.
Two pointers:
DO NOT eat at any of the chain restaurants - they are much more expensive in NYC than other places- and the food is just as bad.
For lists of inexpensive places to eat all over the city (since presumably you'll be in other neighborhoods at lunch and for some dinners) go to the web sites of the Village Voice, Timeout and New York Magazine - recent issues of each have a feature on the best cheap ($25 or less) places with good food in NYC.)

Thank you for the help. I had not thought about needing to rush but you are absolutely correct.
I would like to do a nice meal for about $75-100 total for both of us.
I know I had seen that the Edison has a great breakfast (I still DO NOT understand why for the amount that our hotel cost it does not include breakfast but that is another story)
For lunches I think we will probably grab just sandwiches or hot dogs (mmmmm Grey's papaya!)
Also, does anyone know if the bus tickets could be bought ahead of time and sent to us? We don't want to have to deal with any of that when we get there.

There are some decent restaurants around 9th av and the mid 40s. Check menupages.com for listings, and user reviews. Many have pre-theater specials which are quite reasonable with decent variety.
I also agree to stay aways from the chains.

In New York it is very rare for hotels to include breakfast - nothing to do with the Edison.
And what type of food are you looking for - "American"? Italian? Chinese? French? Thai? Tapas???????
And atmosphere - trendy, traditional??

ok the bus problem was solved. We decided to rent a car.
We are basically looking for a restaurant in the Times Square or Theatre District areas that is reasonably prices (aka not $100 a person) and has steaks and a variety of food.
Then we wanted some rec. on good cheap places in the Times Square area for lunch or breakfast.
Thanks for the help. Sorry it wasn't clearer.
