Spamalot Tickets in NYC

We (parents, son 18 and daughter 15) are going to NYC for the first time in June and want to see Spamalot. I have found discount tickets, but only for the next few weeks. Can I expect to find discount tickets for a Sunday night in early June? If so, when do they go on sale? I have signed up for discount alerts at Theater Mania, Broadway Box and Playbill.

Thanks, Rich

Theaters are slow now - few tourists - so you'll see more discounts. You may or may not find them for June. If they;re going to discount the offers will appear 60 to 90 days out.

Check out www.travelzoo.com-- they often have great deals on theatre tickets.

Chances are good that there'll be discount tickets available for Spamalot in June. I'd wait.

Are you going to be there several days?? You can also wait and use TKTS. Spamalot is frequently available. I even got tickets over New Years.

Spamalot has been out for a while now, so I'd imagine discount tickets aren't hard to get closer to the show.

My wife and I saw it in London last year and frankly was disappointed. The funny parts were the same funny parts from the movie, and the extra parts just weren't that funny. My wife's friend saw it in NYC two years ago and loved it though, so YMMV.

Last June we went to the box office and they offered us tickets for the same price as Broadway Box had online. So we actually saved more money by doing that and not having to pay for a service or mailing fee. We paid half price and had excellent seats in the front mezzanine.

Another good one is www.hitshowclub.com

I've even received discount notices for "Wicked" from them.

You can also sign up at Tickemaster and Telecharge for discount codes.

And, you can also sign up for specific shows

http://www.montypythonsspamalot.com/...s_broadway.php

Keep an eye on everything if you're interested in a specific show. Typically, new discount codes are issued just before or after the current one expires. And, the discount codes, and seats you get with them, vary. So, shop all resources for the best seats.

With Telecharge, I've learned to go after "next seats available", as you can often find seats in the center, versus far left or far right. And, open more than one window for Ticketmaster and keep searching. More often than not, better seats will come up.

Keep in mind that you have a better chance for deeper discounts and better seats on Tuesdays, then Wednesdays, Thursdays, before Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

I rarely hope for recently released "premium" seats, as they are in the very front rows and usually too close.

The discounts usually are only for a month or 2 in advance. There have been discounts to Spamelot for a while, so there most likely will be come June.

Lest anyone get excited reading djkbooks' comment about discount tickets for Wicked, don't get too excited. The offer might have been a discount for premium tickets!

My point, HowardR, is that it's best to check all possible resources and sign yourself up for as many discount code notices as possible.

Every great once in a while, there's an e-mail re: Wicked - and not "discounted premium seats".

About "premium seats". I was watching for tickets to Billy Crystal a few years ago, and only "premium seats" were available for the only show we could attend during our visit. One day, I received an e-mail "good seats still available". There were 4th row center orchestra seats available, previously "premium", at the regular price for orchestra seats. You just never know. I also received an e-mail some years ago "2 for 1" for Cabaret and got a table second one from the stage.

I just want to say thanks for the tip on Travelzoo. I've been checking Broadwaybox and Playbill every day for weeks. I checked back on this thread and found great discount tickets on Travelzoo.

You never know, do you? I've checked Travelzoo a lot in the past and never, ever saw better discounts there than on Theatremania, Broadway Box, or Playbill. So this one sure proved me wrong on that! Congratulations.
