I don't think people want to leave but some are being driven away. Look at the huge drop in US posts - at the same time that the spans are being posted in dozens every day.
There are ways to stop it - fodors just doesn't want to bother.

add the bottom of the page there is a contact us link and after sending five reports during the week I have gotten no response. they either have the worst software security, or they are in it.it hurts people trying to get help because 5 pages of spam buries them in the queue. so they may get very little or no response.

mclaurie: There is an ongoing problem w/ the triangle. Has something to do with either the e-mail address you use w/ Fodors or a specific browser - it seems to be fuzzy which. They are working on it.
But there is no reason really to triangle the mass spam attacks every night -- they are obviously spam and get deleted as soon as the moderators can get to them.
Save yourself the frustration . . .

>>I just right-click on the poster's name, which takes me to their profile page. From there, click the "report this member" link, type "spammer" in the additional comments box, and click submit.think it mostly affects gmail but there are probably others as well.
Honestly -- I'd reserve my use of the triangle for advertisements/spam/abusive posts buried on legit threads. Those are harder for moderators to find -- and not waste time reporting the spam threads that are obvious.
But NOT if you use a gmail address on Fodors.
