south lake tahoe - dinner

Does anyone know of a place for dinner in South Lake Tahoe?
near the casinos (staying at Harvey's)
6 adults
someplace fun, not hugely expensive (burgers, salads, etc.)
table service (no buffets)
edible food

Thanks!

We weren't impressed with the options in South Tahoe. Our best meal was at Marie Callendar's.

Hard Rock Cafe is right in Harvey's.

Cecils Steak & Brew. Pretty large menu. Burgers are about $8.95. Located Marriott Timber Lodge down the stairs. Can be reached right fromt eh street. 2 doors down from Harvey's across the street.

McP Pub on the same side of the street as Harvey's. Just past the chain link fence that was to be The Chateau. Lots of burgers: http://www.mcpspubtahoe.com/mp_menu3.htm

These are all within walking distance. If you wanted to drive there are more.

"Our best meal was at Marie Callendar's."

That is just plain weird. There are lots of good places to eat at Southshore.

Another place w/i walking distance is Kalani's (we had a small Fodors GTG there in August)

A bit more upscale but not too expensive and pretty good. http://www.kalanis.com/

hotzim - That must have been quite a while ago. Marie Callenders has been closed for years.

Echo at Embassy Suites is good. Maybe a sleighride with dinner would be good too. The sleighrides are located next to Mont Bleu
