South Lake Tahoe - moderate restaurants
Hi - we are leaving in 3 weeks for Lake Tahoe. We're staying in a timeshare (Marriott Timber Lodge). We will be hiking a lot and like to just be casual in the evening. Any suggestions on moderately priced but decent food near or in South Lake Tahoe? Thanks, sue

If you like BBQ ribs then try Hoss Hoggs. I have my DH drive from N. Shore Lake Tahoe just to eat at Hoss Hoggs! It's a little whole in the wall joint with checkered table clothes. Very casual.

For Italian, try Scuza's on Ski Run Blvd., for Mexican, the best is the Cantina on Hwy 89, hottest breakfast spot is Ernies, best burger joint is now Burger Lounge on Hwy 89, the Rockwater Tavern is also getting some good reviews.

Now there is a Wolfgang Puck at the Shops at Heavenly right near the Gondola. There are lots of sandwich places too like Quiznos & Subway. There is also a starbucks in case that interests you.
There is the Cantina which is owned by the owners of the fabulous Evans.
Riva Grill is close by at the Marina.
There is also a Cold Stone Creamery.
