South Beach, Shore Club - Help!!
Does anyone have any comments on the Shore Club. My wife and I (both late 20's) are planning a to stay either there or at the Delano for two nights later this week. I have not been able to find much on the Shore Club either on the board or in Rants & Raves. Any suggestions about one hotel over the other? I can get the Shore Club for $80 less per night, which is not that big of a deal if the Delano will provide a better experience. Please help.

I understand that both are hip & happening - that is why I am trying to decide between the two. It is not like I am asking about the Delano and the Saxony. I have just not heard much about the Shore Club. One thing I heard was that there is a tremendous amount of noise all day from construction next door. if that is still the case, I would want to know.

Delanos has very swishy lobby but if you do not have an ocean view, forget it. Why pay $300+ to look out on to Collins Av. We had a drink there and the waitress was a total idiot "whats a Tia Maria.. a cordial" "we do not have it", after confidently stating they "had everything". Sorry what does everthing taste like. We stayed at Doubletree Surfcomber 3 doors down at $98 per night. Yes not exactly trendy, but beds were super comfortable and really quiet room in courtyard area. Bigger rooms than The Hotel at over $200.

Adam and Dorna, Can I ask what rates (and where) you got for both hotels? My husband and I are planning a quick and cheap getaway next month to Sobe and my plan was to stay at the Loews or the National, which I'm confident I can get through Priceline, but now he's saying he wants to stay at the Delano. I thought it was $400 or $500 a night, am I wrong?

Schrager Hotels NEVER have "specials" according to a staff memeber I sat next to on a flight MIA-LAX.He said thats the whole shtick with their hotels--hip,hip, and more hip.It fits, though.Hip euqals high rates. At the Delano, CityView Room $425/Partial OceanView $450 and OceanView $550.I wont be staying there and I'm just passing on what was said to me.
