Nice place to have a drink in South Beach

What South Beach (or Miami Beach) bar/club/lounge would you recommend to a couple in their early thirties to have drinks, listen to music (everything but electronic or techno) and maybe dance.

We're from Europe and would like to get a taste of Miami nightlife. We'd like a nice setting (beachfront or quite original)but have no interest in seeing celebrities. I know I'm being picky LOL Thanks

The Delano is a great place for drinks in South Beach.

Definitely the Delano.

The Shore Club is a second option, only a couple of blocks from the Delano.

The Clevelander isn't that great. I'm kinda old (33) for drinks in plastic dixie cups.

placeu2, IMO that would depend on your definition of "good" or "bad" -- ruling out techno/electronic music in Miami actually rules out a lot of places.

But in general, i agree with you...having a drink anywhere in Miami is better than having a drink, say, here at home. Ha!
