South Beach hotel for two 20 something guys

Hi all. My nephew wants to go get in a bit of trouble in South Beach in May. He asked me to help him with hotels, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the area. He and a buddy will share a room, and want to keep the price around $200 night. Is this even possible? What do you recommend?

Thanks.

Exactly how old are they; some places won't rent to young 'uns.

The Marseilles is a good choice. Great location right on the beach, younger crowd and in May it will be closer to $150 per night.

Thanks wyatt92. Deb, can't believe I don't know for sure. I'm thinking 25 - 28?

Well as long as they're over 21 - and don't try to check in with 14 more people they should be fine (and assuming they have enough credit on their CCs).

Can help with prices. But aren't they big enough boys to organize their own hotels (I've been doing it - in europe - since I was 19 - as did my daughters/ their friends).

He is extremely well educated, well travelled, has lived abroad and has an excellent job. I'm simply trying to get some recommendations for him. Isn't that sort of what this forum is for? Do you have any recommendations, or did you open this thread to criticize?

I didn't "open this thread" - you did. And if you want to play travel agent that;s fine. It;s just based on the description in your first post it sounded like we were talking about kids of 18 or 19 - not "well-educated and well-traveled" adults.

nytraveler,

How rude of you! The OP asked for simple travel advice and you respond with this:

"But aren't they big enough boys to organize their own hotels (I've been doing it - in europe - since I was 19 - as did my daughters/ their friends)".

I think you could use a little more "education" in manners.

Not sure how you can mistake "two 20 something guys" (in title) for 18 or 19 year olds. Nevertheless, thank you kindly for your permission to "play travel agent." I'll ask again: do you have any recommendations or are you continuing to open this thread to criticize?

nytraveler, maybe you could try something along the lines of -

"My apologies. I was wrong".
