South Beach Hotel Help......

I am looking for a moderate or budget priced hotel in south beach. It's a one night stay for 3 people and I am finding that many of the small art deco hotels only offer one bed per room. And, these hotel all cost over $200/night.

I am looking for under $200/night and within walking distance to the beach and nightlife. Any suggestions? It seems I am asking for the world with this request, I am not finding anything that doesn't say hotel needs to be rehabbed. Thanks....

Try the Chesterfield Hotel in South Beach (855 Collins Ave)....it's 1 block from Ocean Drive & the beach. Rates are quite low for that area.

kelly, WHEN?

The same hotels vary in price from $150 to $500 for a standard room depending upon date, season, and what is going on in South Beach.

I got the Clinton Hotel last year for about $150. But as it turned out they were doing some renovations which could have explained the reasonable rate. The Clinton is 2 blocks from the beach (the short end of a block not the length of a block). The hotel was fine, especially the rooms. The lobby was sort of gaudy and the housekeeping was a little spotty but otherwise fine. Great location and quiet, not boisterous like beachfront.

Thanks for the suggestions. The dates I am looking for are January 20th. This seems to be a peak time.

Yes, January 20th will be tough in South Beach to get anything cheap.

If you don't mind a dump in a great location; oceanfront, great pool, Lincoln Road Mall area, book the Days Inn South Beach.

I checked and the rates are $129 per night. The beach location is excellent. They were going through a complete renovation while I was there in June so it should be completed. Our room was not renovated.
