snow globes -NYC

friends are headed to NYC with their 6 year old in may. the little girl loves snow globes. is there a store that sells just snow globes or that has a huge selection of them somewhere in the city?
any advice on this or other kid oriented stuff for their visit would be greatly appreciated.

Are they flying? Snow globes aren't allowed in carryon on planes. They will need to pack them in checked luggage or ship them home.

Radio City Music Hall had some great snow globes and a great tour.

Yes, there's a gift shop out front. I checked their online store and there were only a couple of options. When we were there (during the holidays) there were many beautiful snow globes and a teen girl took one home as her NYC souvenir.

You might try Macy's. I know they used to sell them.

I think they may be downstairs in Macy's or you could try the MTA store in Grand Central.

If I were in New York with one of the six-year-olds in our big family who wanted to shop for snow globes, I would use this interest as a way to explore the city. A snow globe found in a little shop off the beaten path is likely to be a greater treasure than one selected from a huge array of snow globes on the shelves of a snow globe store that probably doesn't exist.

HTtY

PS This inquiry brought to mind the Scotch Tape store on an early SNL skit.

There are so many souvenir stores around Times Square. I'm sure you could find quite a few that way too.

Is the Scotch Tape store any sillier than the real M&M store near Times Square?

I think so because Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd, Fred Willard, Jane Curtain, John Beluchi, Garrett Morris, Bill Murray, and Laraine Newman worked or shopped in the Scotch Tape Store (Season 4: Episode 2, October 14, 2014).

That doesn't make it any sillier!

The M&Ms (sorted by color) are cheaper at Economy Candy.

A six year old little girl? She HAS to go to the American Girl store! Have lunch or dessert there too!

I saw a snowglobe with a ballerina in it at the NYCBALLET tonight. It doesn't seem to be in their online gift shop. You can call the ballet and inquire if you can go in before a performance to make a purchase. They looked very sweet.

The Broadway souvenir stores in Times Square have a lot of great snow globes. I know because my daughter collects them and we easily fine them at the shops in TS, on Broadway.
