Saw the show last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of laughs. Some of it is a bit corny and the material is slightly dated, but most of it is slick and so much fun it hardly matters. Dreyfus and Stoltz are great, and the rest of the cast is right up there as well. Wish Rachel York had a bigger part. The sets are terrific-haven't seen good sets like that in a while. Costumes are fun. This is a great, easy going show. Lots of sexual innuendo. Do not recommend for under 16.

And, just a comment for Patrick. I noticed the discussion on another thread regarding King Lear. I really hated to admitted this and that is why I never posted a review of the show, but I absolutely couldn't stand it. I thought I must be crazy and the only one who didn't get it, but we actually walked out (with one other couple). We never told anyone because, who walks out on Christopher Plummer doing a classic? We had front row seats on the side. It was freakishly cold in the theater and I was numb from head to toe. When the actors had their backs to me, I couldn't hear a word they said. I was miserable for the whole first act. After we left, we felt guilty--like we should have stayed to see if the 2nd act got better, but it was so torturous it wasn't even a remote possibility. The set is non-existant and boring, costumes are mundane, acting was ok, and since I knew the story in advance, there was nothing left to hold my interest. I hope you have a better experience than we did. I'd like to hear that someone felt they got their monies worth.

Uh, oh. Lear is one of my favorites and I've seen wonderful and not so wonderful productions. I must admit that after all the reading I've done about this production I get the feeling the main thing I'll be into is Christopher Plummer's performance. Several reviews have mentioned not being able to understand a word from several characters, so you're certainly not alone there. And thanks for the reminder about how cold that theatre always is -- I remember freezing for Contact and for House of Blue Leaves there. But I rember when we saw Anything Goes years ago, the air wasn't working and the theatre was hot. Maybe that's why the show started 15 minutes late with a much delayed announcement that Patti Lupone wasn't going on -- she may have refused to perform without the air?

Glad to hear about Sly Fox. I was in Volpone in college and have seen several productions of it. I've read the script for Sly Fox and it seems like so much fun (and yes, I'm into both corny and sexual innuendo!). I'll be seeing it Saturday night, May 1.
