Skyauction question about the single supplement.
I have never used Skyauction, but I have been looking at their website.
I am confused about the single supplement charge.
If I win an auction for $200, for one to eight people and the single supplement is $300; do I have to pay $500($200+$300), instead of $400 (2x$200) which is cheaper?
Also, what does it mean when i will be charged the maximum single supplement and the price will be ammended.
Could fodorites who have used Skyauction please comment.
Sorry to sound so dumb

I'm pretty certain you'd have to pay the $500. I used to browse around Skyauction quite a lot and found that the single supplements often make the deal not such a great deal. I think I inquired once about a similar issue and the single supp. applied for one person.
Is this for an airfare? If so, be sure to read the fine print b/c there are a lot of surcharges that can really jack up the price.
You can get some good deals on Skyauction but you're better off sticking to hotel rooms that are auctioned by the room and not per person.
I got a week at a luxury resort in Cabo for a total of $375 a few years ago. They gave me an ocean front suite so it was a real deal.
If you have questions, you should try to call them. I once submitted an email request and it took almost a week to get a reply, and the auction was over by then. Good luck.

Greenhouse and panecott, thanks for the feedback. I have been looking at the Skyauction website for a week or two, some of the pakcages seem to be a good deal, others have hidden costs that no longer make them a good deal. I was wondering how I should budget for a trip if I win an auction and travel solo.
What confuses me the most is when Skyacution says I have to pay the maximum single supplement and ammend the price.
I will email Skyauction and ask them.
