Siesta Key resorts

Hi,
Any resorts on the beach in Siesta Key that are recommended, or do we need to stay at a nearby beach??

I personally like lido key better than siesta...or longboat key. There is a new raddisson on lido, the longboat key club on longboat that is great. And my perosnal fav is the new Ritz Carlton on sarasota bay! Those are my personal reccommendations.

I live on Siesta Key, and believe me, if you want a beautiful beach, relaxed atmosphere, this is the place. Nothing wrong with the RC, but it's downtown, on the bay, and about good 15 minutes from the nearest beach. Lido Key beaches are not as nice, and Long Boat is full of old farts that call the cops when they see somebody driving through that don't belong in the neighborhood.

What kind of vacation are you looking for?
Are you looking just for a beach, quiet vacation?
or some nightlife, more upbeat atmosphere?

AA,

Actually, we are thinking about getting a place full or part time. Looking for a starting point to vacation for a few days so we can start our search. Kids almost done with college/pro school, etc, so we'd like a place. We like the west coast and have heard loads about Siesta Key area.
Thanks.
Frank

On that site I gave you, look for Tropical Breeze Resort. They run many different accomodations on the island, and I'm not sure, but they also may have a real estate office, and if they do, they will probably specialize in condos, timeshares and such, and if they don't I'm sure they could steer you the right way. Ask if they offer any deals when you are looking to buy. It can't hurt to ask.
Good Luck!
I came here 8 years ago, and stayed. Love this little paradise!
Maybe one day I'll run into you at the Siesta Market.
