Siesta Key Lodging
I am having a very hard time finding info on lodging at Siesta Key. Am a little wary of all the privately owned condos, even tho we want to rent for a week and we need a kitchen and separate sleep/living quarters.(yes, sounds like a condo!) any suggestions or recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated.
A condo would be more than acceptable, but I really would like to have some personal recommendations to go by.

I agree with being very careful about the condo you rent. There are not many hotels/motels on Siesta. One year I got a list of the condos, sent for brochures from all of them and went from there. We ended up staying on Longboat Key instead, because we stll couldn't decide. Do a search for condos on Siesta . Once you can identify a few you are interested in, people can respond to your questions. The beach st Siesta is (IMHO) is the best in Florida.

Try this link to another thread on Siesta Key from the forum. Several recommendations for lodging and condos:

We've never had any real problems renting condos on the gulf Fl...and have done so on Siesta, Marco Island, Englewood. Some are older than others, but if you are dealing with the owner, ask for extra pictures and ask specific questions that are important to you...cleanliness, condo amenities, etc. Then get it in writing.

We're staying at the Sarasota Surf in March. I haven't been to Siesta Key before but here's the link.

I tried to do an internet inquiry and never heard back, so I called and they had units available.
Here are a few other links
