SFO to Hotel Milano (55 5th St)
Leaving for San Francisco this Friday, and we would like to take the BART from the airport to vicinity of our hotel, which is located on 5th Street. I don't see a BART stop near 5th--anyone know where the nearest stop would be or if there are other inexpensive options from SFO?

Take any BART train and exit at the Powell Street Station. You will come up onto Market Street. Once on Market Street you will be between 4th and 5th street (these streets run from Market Street to the south).
Your hotel is about 1/2 block down on Market street in between Market Street and Mission Street.
Very easy to get to via BART.
Get a map of SF and you will be in fine shape.

Your welcome.
FYI the Powell Street Cable Car (runs up Nob Hill and down to the wharf) is right near where you pop up from the BART dungeon. It is a great way to get down to the wharf & marina in the morning. In the afternoon the lines can be long.
Have a great trip.

I'm not sure how you'll be able to figure out where is "the back and the right" when your exiting.
However, as soon as you are on street level, just look for the mass of people crowded around a large, wooden "turntable" on the street corner - this is where they physically turn the cable cars around to go to the opposite direction. When you're there, then you are on the corner of Powell and Market.

No, no, Bill-Boy, this corner with the turntable is the wrong one for Casanic! S/he needs 55 5th street - it's diagonally opposite the turntable! S/he should not go to Powell Street, only get off at Powell BART and go to 5th street.

Fainaagain,
I didn't write that he/she should go to Powell St. I was simply referencing the area and that once he/she is by the corner of Powell/Market, he/she can walk south-west along Market and then turn left on 5th Street (landmark: San Francisco Shopping Center on the north-east corner).
The hotel should only be a few feet from there.
