SF: Things to Do & See
I want to see the crooked street, chinatown, the Haight, maybe take a day trip to Sausalito or Tiburon, which is better?
We're booked for the Alcatraz night tour so that's set.
Can we walk or take public transportation to most of these places? How about Golden Gate Park? Golden Gate Bridge?
Thanks

I really wouldn't waste too kuch time in SF. It is basically overrated, at least from my experience, and quite a run down city as well. If I were you I would spend most of my time in Saualito and Tiburon which have great vies of SF. SF is really best seen at a distance.

The MUNI system (buses and lightrail) is good and can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go. I rarely take a car when I go into the city. I think you can order a system map from the MUNI web site.
I agree with L - a ferry trip to Angel Island is a great idea and walking on the Golden Gate is fun.

To go to/from Sausalito and Tiburon you can use ferry or Golden Gate transit bus. The bus goes over the bridge. So you can visit the bridge, Sausalito and Tiburon in one day if you go one way by ferry and one way by bus. Both ferry and bus schedules on Golden Gate transit web site.
Check MUNI website for buses to Lombard, Haight, Chinatown, Golden Gate park. There are many, it depends on the location of your hotel. There is a free shuttle along the park running every 15 minutes on weekends, not sure if it's on the web yet.
