SF Rolling Stones @ SBC Stadium 11/15/05 - Will I Freeze?

I just bought tickets for the Rolling Stones at SBC Stadium 11/15/05. Will I freeze? I see that SF gets 2.5" of rain in November. For those of you who know the city well, will it be very cold at SBC stadium at that time? Any suggestions to ensure a pleasant experience?

Cold, yes. Damp, likely. You'll be in the company of 65,000 other fans keeping warm by keeping moving. Sometimes the fog causes an inversion layer to keep the area at a somewhat comfortable temperature.

Hi Mary_Fran! What a fun evening you will have!! I would dress warmly and in layers. That way if you do shake your bootay you can start stipping LOL.
As you no doubt know SBC Stadium is right along the SF Bay. And SF can be cold and damp in November. But if you dress for this kind of weather you should be fine. Enjoy!!!

Although November will probably be warmer than August (no joke), it's a safe best that it'll still be cool.

I agree that you should bring layers. Obviously you should bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.

Thanks for confirming what I'd already supposed - that it will be cold but that I'll have a great time.

I'll be the houseguest of my son, and he'll be my date for the evening, though he doesn't know that yet, since he's in Barcelona right now. Never fear. He'll love it.

Since I've recently retired and can now spend as much time in SF as I like, I'm planning to make a long list of things to see and do in the city on this trip. I've gotten lots of great ideas on this forum today. Bike ride in Golden Gate park sounds fabulous, for starters.

I also want to take a guided walking architectural tour. Any suggestions? I haven't queried this board yet but would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Son lives kitty-corner from Buena Vista park, so tour starting in the Haight would be ideal.

Hello Mary_Fran, using the search feature here on Fodor's look for Stu Dudley's posts (believe he is in Europe this summer). You should find lots of post that he has written with so much fantastic info for travellers to SF including free tours (donations are always appreciated of course) through the SF Library. His wife is one of the volunteers. Have fun!

You could freeze but doubtful. There will be so many people there. Dress in layers. Your son lives in a great part of the city.I agree to check out Stu Dudley's suggestion for walking tours. Take your son to Quince for dinner. It's sublime!
