Seven Pools in Maui worth it?

My wife and I are planning on driving to Hana and were wondering if it's worth it to continue to the 7 Pools? We want to get out of the car along the way to Hana for some waterfalls, but should we still see the 7 Pools? Thanks.

Driving beyond has some nice sights like Hamoa beach, but none (incl the 7 never-sacred pools) are absolute musts. Play it by ear and how you feel at the time.

IMO, the best waterfalls were after Hana. Even the ones by the side of the road. If I were to do it again, I'd skip most of the waterfalls before Hana (don't skip over other side trips though). Seven Sacred Pools are not the best feature at the east end of the Haleakala Nat'l Park, but still worthwhile, especially when it's uncrowded.

I really enjoyed swimming at some of the waterfalls on the drive to Hana. The 7 Pools didn't do much for me. Seemed kind of like a let down at the end of a long day. I'm just glad that I stayed in Hana for a few days, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area and not feel rushed on the drive.

I bet the pools would be nice earlier in the day, before the Hana caravan tribe get there !
