September weather in Key West?

September weather in Key West?
My husband and I are considering a long weekend in Key West from Sept 10-13. I'm a little worried about the weather, though. Is that usually rainy/hurricane season? Any advice? Thanks!

Not to sound as though I'm being negative, but it will be hot and humid and, yes, it will be hurricane season.
But I've been to the Keys countless times in September (and other months) and I've never been caught in a hurricane.
The heat and the humidity on the other hand is a little more difficult to escape. But It's not THAT bad, as evidenced by the fact that i keep going back there.
