Key West-Weather
Hi-I plan on being in Key west the beginning of next week. While the shopping and sites are interesting to me..the warm sunny weather is what I was looking forward too. Does anyone have any experience with the edge of a tropical storm? Should i expect bunches of rain-the forecasts seem to suggest I should. Should i think of rescheduling?

The reason you are seeing so much rain in KW's upcoming forecast is that it is on the "wet" side of the Hurricane that is predicted to pass to the southwest over the weekend. So depending on how quickly the storm moves northwest into the central Gulf of Mexico, you should see improving forecasts for the beginning of next week. Of course, if the hurricane veers off course, there may not be a Key West to visit come monday.

You've done some very poor planning cc. No one should ever come to Key West in late September for "warm sunny weather". The norm at this time of year is very hot mid 90's with extremely high humidity. The normal weather pattern would be rain showers virtually every afternoon. That is the norm. However, it is quite likely that if the hurricane (Isodora is expected to be upgraded to one later today) passes relatively close to Key West going further to the west in the Gulf, then your weather is actually likely to be better than usual. You may see more clear sunshine than normal, fewer afternoon rain showers, and lower humidity. So it is possible you will luck out.

Sept is a great time to visit. The storm won't do much to the Keys. They will probably get some good rain the early part of the weekend along with some wind. The average high is in the mid 80's and usually nice and sunny with maybe an occasional shower in the afternoon. It is our favorite time to visit. You did great on your planning.
