Sedona hiking- need advice asap.. please!
Hi. My husband and I will be in Sedona for 2 wks mid March 2019 and hope to include some hiking in our plans (also sightseeing and golf). The house we're interested in renting looks great for us BUT its not on a trail head and being novice hikers, has us wondering about trail parking issues. How far will we have to park from the entrances, which potentially can have us tired before starting the hike!
Advice please: Would it be better to get a house that is at a trailhead that does not completely meet our needs or ...
get the one we like (10 min walk to town) but its not on a trailhead and therefore could run into trail parking problems? ei. Should we expect it so busy that we can't find parking mid-March?
Thank-you. We want to book a place ASAP!

Nobody can completely predict what trailhead parking will be like. However, consider this: a house at ONE trailhead doesn't give you a leg up on finding parking at any other trailhead in the area. You would only have easy access to whatever trail is outside your front door. Since you are there for 2 weeks and don't have to do any particular trail on any particular day, you can certainly make a list of trails you'd like to do and be flexible on when you do them, depending on the parking situation. I can't imagine the trailhead parking will be full every day of your trip.
In short, for 2 weeks, would you rather have easy access to ONE trailhead and deal with a house that isn't perfect? Or have a perfect house and be flexible in your trail choices?
Also, 5 months gives you a lot of time to go for walks and get yourselves better prepared for hiking.
