Seattle pubs with live music
An old high school buddy and I will be staying at the Inn at Harbor Steps, located at 1st Ave. and University St., in early July. We two baby boomers would like to check out a nearby pub/restaurant, in a safe area, with live music ( oldies, classic rock, blues ). Any suggestions?

As mentioned in the other post, check the free papers (Stranger and Weekly) after you arrive. More upscale places like Three Doors or Jazz Alley might be worth it if they happen to have someone playing you'd really want to see/hear.

FYI, I think Suze means the Triple Door. Pioneer Square bars will be the only ones that will have cover bands playing classic rock and oldies, and on weekends the clubs are swarmed with young frat guys, so if that doesn't sound like fun, well, it might not be. Weeknights it's not so bad. Here is a new place I've read about (it was favorable reviewed by the local paper) that might be up your alley:
