Seattle in January
Hello. I will be attending a meeting in Seattle in mid-January. I would love to have some tips on where to stay. I would prefer an upscale small hotel but am open to any suggestions. If anyone knows of hotel/spa combinations, that would be perfect. Thanks so much. Betsy

I live in Seattle and, for January especially, I would suggest using Priceline.com to attempt the 4-star establishments in the downtown section.
That would be the height of the hotel bargain season and, while Seattle is NOT the best city around for Priceline scores, it may still seem that way for a couple of nights in January.
Light rain and chilly air (30's, most likely) are what you'll find weather-wise at that time of year, and most anyplace among Priceline featured downtown 4-star spots would be reasonable.
You might be quite happy with your hotel savings, and could then splurge on something else along the way.
