Seaside/Cannon Beach, OR Lodging

We're leaving for Oregon this weekend for a 9 day stay w/family. We were wanting to take one night and just dh & I go to the coast for a romantic night. Any suggestion on lodging in Seaside or Cannon Beach, OR for $125 or less. I've looked into Schooners Cove and that's an option for us. We're thinking we'll stay Tuesday, May 31st to avoid the Memorial Day rush. Do y'all think that it will still be terribly crowded on Tuesday. We've stayed at Seaside before, but not Cannon Beach so we're kinda leaning towards CB.

Thanks.

Seaside is great for families, but for a romantic night, I would suggest Cannon Beach. We have a beach cottage in Seaside, so we don't need lodging, but while in Cannon Beach, both the Ocean Lodge and the Inn @ Cannon Beach both look very nice for a romantic trip. I would suggest the Stephanie Inn but it is much more than $125/night.

While in CB, we liked the Wayfarer for a romantic dinner and will be trying the Bistro and the Stephanie Inn next month on our extended stay in the area.

If you want to stay in Seaside, I would suggest the Inn of the Four Winds. I rode my bike by the property every day while we were visiting in March and admired the place, located right on the prom in Seaside. Check out Kalypso for a romantic dinner. ***kim***

Most of us will have returned to the real world by the 31st - rats! - so it should be relatively quiet in Cannon Beach. I've never stayed there, but with a beachfront location near the heart of town, I think Schooner's Cove would be hard to beat in your price range. I'm sure you can't touch Ocean Lodge for anywhere close to $125.

I hope you find some good weather. The weekend forecast was promising up until a couple days ago - another rats!

HMC, I just checked the Ocean Lodge website @ www.theoceanlodge.com and they have a King, non-oceanview room with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace and DVD for $139 on the night you want. Sounds heavenly! ***kim***

The nice thing about Schooner's Cove is that all rooms are oceanview.

Just FYI ***kim*** - not only are those $139 rooms not ocean view, they aren't in the Lodge building. They're in the "bungalow" buildings across the entry drive from the Lodge. So the view is either of the Lodge, or the parking lot. Might be your idea of heaven, but I'm looking forward to something better than that.

I think Seaside and Cannon Beach should have their own Forum. **LOL**

It won't be easy to find a room for $125, but here is a possibility. Tolovana Inn (1 800 333-8890) is a condo with a great beach location that has some non-view, motel type rooms that are very reasonably priced. Next door is Mo's--a good family style restaurant.

I know someone said that they heard bad things about Mo's but we really enjoyed lunch there last Sept. It was chilly and windy and the clam chowder was delicious and the wait staff is very friendly and chatty..ours told us all about the Tsunami!

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'll be surfing the internet and making a decision today about where we're going to stay.
Thanks again.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Inn of the Four Winds? There's a deal on their website $99.00/night through May 31st. So, I'm considering that if anyone has a opinion on it.
