Does anyone know of a good fishing lodge in Minnesota? My dad and husband are looking for a place to go mid May - early June.

my duluth friends have always gone to gunflint lodge up near boundary waters..

I was also going to recommend Gunflint Lodge. We always stay there for a couple days in the summer and a couple days in the winter. It is wonderful. There are also many other lodges on the Gunflint Trail above Grand Marais, MN You can google Gunflint Trail and it will give you a list of lodges and other info. Good Luck!

It depends on what kind of activity the two are expecting. Lake of the Woods has good fishing for walleye pike and many other species, is a bit remote but with decent road access, and the choice to be guided on someone else's boat, rent a boat and go outon their own, or bring your own boat and hire a guide or go out on your own. Sportsman's Lodge is pretty decent. It's located a bit north of Baudette, MN. If you don't like the Sportsman's Lodge, there are lots of other resorts nearby that give you access to the Rainy River and Lake of the Woods.

Besides Gunflint, also try Nelson's Resort on Crane Lake. Great fishing.

Chapman's on Mille Lac's is a great resort. They have 1 bedroom, or 2 bedroom cabins available in May through October. They also offer guide service and boat and motor rental. There is a boat ramp and plenty of dock space. Very warm people and good walleye fishing.

We love Pehrson Lodge on Lake Vermilion. It's outside Cook, MN, about 60 miles from Duluth and four to five hours from the Twin Cities. The web site is http://www.pehronlodge.com.

Try a place called "Moosetrack Adventures" near Ely, they do guided fishing trips.

Actually, you can't post on a particular state's page. All questions are posted on the "United States" forum. You can search a state, but you're not able to select a state to post a question.

Then why does a fishing lodge in Minnesota come up on a search under Missouri, or apparently Alaska too? I'm still trying to figure out how this site works exactly . . . like how do you actually create a link using the tinyurl links I so often see?

1. There are no separate state pages, just one big US board. Your confusion is understandable, it isn't clear.
2. You select a state presumably to assist with later searches, but as you have noticed, the search engine here is effectively broken. Editors have been promising to improve/fix it.
3. You create tiny URLs at www.tinyurl.com. Paste or type in your long URL and it will spit out a tiny URL that you can copy and paste here.

I second Williams Narrows! The fishing is good on Cutfoot...the lake the resort is located on. Went there my forst 15 years of life like clockwork for the fishing opener Mother's Day Weekend. The scenery is beautiful!

I'm a total travel enthusiest of the North Shore of Minnesota... Fishing is great from Devil Track to top of the Gunflint Trail. Careful "up the trail" for boundary water motor restrictions- lots of great (and not so touristy) lake closer to Grand Marais

I would say Rainy Lake, Woodys Fairly Realible Guide Service. My wife and I live in Rainer a small town just outside of Internation Falls, MN (a town of 200). He has a great pub, great spot, and Woody is a hell of a guy. You can't go wrong, we moved away 5 years ago and went back last summer, and he treated us like we had never left, new our names, hugs, etc. Woody's is the way go.
