Seafood in Savannah?
I'm driving down to Florida with a friend for Christmas, and we'll be spending one night in Savannah on the way. I used to visit Savannah often, staying with my first mother-in-law, and spending time on Tybee island with in-laws of in-laws, but this will be my first visit in 20 years. (I'm giving the place another chance, lol!)
We have a reservation at the Planters Inn on Reynold's Square, and I'm looking for a recommendation for a seafood restaurant other than the Pirates' House. Either walking distance or with easy parking, and preferably Calabash style. Thanks for any help.

Uncle Bubbas (Pauls Deen family) on way to Tybee from Savannah.
Or for really casual, Crab Shack - also on way to Tybee. This has some sketchy reviews on various websites but son and I ate there and it was fun and food (boiled crab of several varieties along with other fish, shellfish, spicey sausage, potatoes) was good.

thursdaysd-The Crab Shack is really easy to get to from Savannah, just about 5 miles past Uncle Bubba's! You are sooo right about the wait at Uncle Bubba's, we arrived at 5:00 when they opened and we had a 1 1/2 hour wait! Food was pretty good, so it was worth it! As for Lady and Son's, you have to arrive around 8am to get in line for a time to come back for lunch or dinner! They start handing out times at 9 or 10??! We went 3 days in a row and each time they were booked by the time we reached the front of the line! Finally on the 4th and last day of our trip we were able to get in! It's puzzling to say the least!

Good choice!
Yes, the scored flounder is one of their signature dishes. Always gets raves. I usually have the bisque as an appetizer and the shrimp and grits appetizer with another one (it varies) as my entree.
Save room for their signature praline basket with ice cream dessert. Heavenly
I am NOT a fan of the Pirate House. At all. I have stories, but will not share them here.
But, Fodorites I greatly admire and like have suggested the Pirates House so it can't be "all bad"
