Never stayed travelcat, but have walked by it more times than I can count. I think it's got one of the best locations in Cannon Beach, and with every room ocean view, I'm not sure that you can go wrong here. The one negative might be that it's been around long enough to maybe be a little tired and/or worn around the edges.

I am like Beachbum in that I have not stayed there, but have walked passed it. Today in fact. It is a fantastic location, and there were many people going in/out, so that is usually a good sign. I know this does not help as far as how the room or staff are, but the rest of it is good.

We stayed at Schooner's Cove last week, and we plan to stay there again on our next trip to Cannon Beach. We had a living room, a bed room (comfortable beds), a kitchenette, and a deck with a great view of Ecola. The room was well maintained, as was the lawn with deck chairs and barbecues. There is an spa (you can book a half hour all to yourself).
We liked the intimate size of the place, and the staff was pleasant and helpful.
We also liked the location close to shops and restaurants.
We fell Schooner's Cove is a good value in comparison to the larger, better known places a few blocks south.
