Savannah - Quick stop over

We will be passing through Savannah on Sunday May 27th (probably arriving late afternoon) & would like to at least get a glimpse of Savannah that evening. A decent meal and an inexpensive place to spend the night is what we need. Recommendations??

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. Any comments regarding a good place for dinner?

Recently we got the Hyatt 3* in historic district for $71 on Priceline. Other acceptances have been higher, but it may be worth your try.

Thanks all for the tips. Wish we had the time to explore it all, perhaps next trip.

We enjoyed Moon River on Bay Street. I second the vote for the trolley tour.

I forgot to address where to spend the night. We tried priceline but even our bid for $100 was rejected. You will be there over Memorial Day weekend so your chances of winning a priceline bid in the historical district are slim to none.

There is an inexpensive hotel in the historical district called the Thunderbird, but you might want to read about it on my trip report before making a decision. I think what happened to us was a probably a fluke, and the rooms are really quite nice.
